Private Correspondence of the Polish Diplomat J. S. Łoś with the Hierarchs of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church

The purpose is to analyze the private correspondence of the Polish diplomat Jan Stanisław Łoś with Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytskyi, Bishop Hryhorii Khomyshyn, Mitrat Tyt Voinarovskyi, which is stored in the “Niemce Łoś Archiwum” fund of the State Archives in Lublin.
The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, objectiveness, multifactority, and comprehensive analysis.
The scientific novelty of the topic of relations between the highest representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and Count Stanisław Łoś is that these relations have not been analyzed yet, and most of the presented materials are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time.
It is noted in the conclusions that the considered correspondence is a testimony of the era and another source for researching the complex and, at the same time, an interesting topic of public life and political activity of Ukrainians of Eastern Halychyna, urgent official affairs of the Lviv Metropolis, and also records relations between representatives of the Polish elites and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
