The purpose of this analysis is to assess the quality of the Conclusion of the Complex Forensic Statistical and Criminalistic Examination of December 3, 2020, within the criminal case no. 22019000000000309 initiated on October 20, 2019. This assessment primarily concerns the estimation of demographic losses due to the Holodomor of 1932—1933.
Methodology. The assessment is guided by principles of impartiality, critical evaluation of the conceptual framework, data integrity, cluster analysis, and adherence to fundamental principles of demographic science.
Novelty. For the first time, a comprehensive investigation has been conducted into the quality and accuracy of demographic loss determinations concerning the Holodomor of 1932—1933 within the aforementioned Conclusion of the Complex Forensic Statistical and Criminalistic Examination conducted on December 3, 2020.
The main results encompass an in-depth scrutiny of the accuracy and completeness of the given information regarding the demographic loss determinations in prior research, the appropriateness of terminological usage, and the sufficiency of the data base. Furthermore, an evaluation of methodological instruments employed (sampling methodology, cluster analysis, demographic techniques) was carried out, revealing erroneous applications. Conclusions. A critical analysis of the Complex Forensic Statistical and Criminalistic Examination at various stages has found substantial methodological deficiencies and improper utilization of the data, evidently inclined towards an exaggeration of demographic losses attributed to the Holodomor of 1932—1933.
