The Archaeological Institute in Kyiv was one of the main centers where the historical and comparative concept of the ancient Ukrainian cult architecture of I.Morhilevskyi was formed, as well as a center for the study of Kyiv studies issues of art history. The connection of KAI with the concepts of M.Hrushevskyi and his school, with representatives of the Kyiv Ukrainian Scientific Society is traced.
