Fragment of "Diary of the General Treasury Secretary Yakov Markovich" after a copy by V. Modzalevsky (introductory article and publication by N.Yu. Matyash)

Abstract

This publication is dedicated to the fifth part of the Diary of Ya.Markovych. Despite it’s scientific importance this source is still not fully published and there are still not enough researches of this Diary. Author dated his diary entries for over fifty years (1717–1767). The fifth book covers the period from 1741 to 1743 years and nowadays this part is lost. But we can find the copy made by V.Modzalevs’kyi in the Institute of manuscripts of Vernads’kyi National Library of Ukraine. This copy can be helpful for verification of biography of Ya.Markovych and for researching the daily life of Cossack officers.
