WHETHER С-MYC IS A PROGNOSTIC FACTOR IN PRIMARY MEDIASTINAL (THYMIC) LARGE B-CELL LYMPHOMA?
Keywords:
primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma, с-myc expression, translocation t(8;14), FISH.Abstract
Summary. The adverse impact of c-MYC for diffuse
large B-cell lymphoma is confirmed by numerous studies.
However, primary mediastinal lymphoma sub-options
such data. Aim: to investigate the prognostic significance
of c-MYC expression and translocations t (8;14) inpatients
with primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma. Materials and methods: immunohistochemical study to determine c-myc expression and FISH-analisys and to identify translocation t(8;14) were done on 33 tissue specimens.
Results: in 51.6% of cases was strong and moderate nuclear expression of c-myc. Among these patients in one third
of cases was revealed translocation t(8;14) byFISH-study.
were identified some differences of marker’s expression in
women and men. Conclusion: there were no differences in
the course of disease in patients with a different c-MYC expression status, as well as the presence or absence of disturbances of c-MYC structure.
