INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE “TUMO AND ORGANISM: NEW ASPECTS OF AN OLD PROBLEM” (November 21–22, 2019, Kyiv)

Abstract

On November 21–22, 2019, the II International Conference “Tumor and Host: Novel Aspects of Old Problem” was held. The problem of the relationship between the tumor and the organism is traditional and a priority for the Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology (IEPOR) of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine; the foundations of its study were laid by the first director of the Institute, Academician R.E. Kavetsky, whose 120th anniversary of birth was celebrated by the domestic scientific community. It was Academician R.E. Kavetsky who formulated the concept of tumor-organism communications, which now forms the basis for the development of individualized approaches to the treatment of malignant tumors.
