Submission Guidelines and Requirements
The journal «Oncology» (included in the The list of scientific professional editions of Ukraine (medicine, biology), the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of April 07, 2022 № 320: Е1 (091) «Biology and biochemistry»; І2 (222) «Medicine»; І6 (224) «Medical diagnostic and treatment technologies»), accepts articles that has not been published previously elsewhere and are not under consideration for publication in other publishing structures. Responsibility for the reliability of information and the originality of the submitted materials is of the authors. In the process of editing works, the editors reserve the right to change the style, but not the content of the articles. The papers executed without observance of requirements of edition are not registered.
MANUSCRIPT FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS
Manuscript language: Ukrainian, English.
Requirements for text layout: the manuscript is printed on one side of an A4 sheet, 1.5 spacing; with a margin from the left edge of 3 cm, top and bottom – 2 cm, on the right – 1.5 cm. It is recommended to use MS Word, Times New Roman font, font size – 12 pt, justified text alignment.
For text formatting, avoid using spaces and the Tab key; do not use manual word hyphenation.
The approximate volume of the manuscript should not exceed 3500 words (original research), 4000 words (review), not including the title, abstract, and list of references.
Abbreviations should be decoded during the first use in the text.
ARTICLE STRUCTURE
1 Article title
2 Information about the author (authors) includes Full Name; unique researcher identifier ORCID iD; primary place of work or study at the time of the study (name of the institution, city, country); provided that the authors belong to different institutions – the place of work of the author is indicated by the corresponding index next to the author's surname.
3 Summary is provided in Ukrainian and English languages, is structured and should reflect the main information about the content of the article. Summary has the following structure: Aim, Object and methods, Results, Conclusions. The summary of a review article or lecture may be unstructured.
4 Keywords. The summary is accompanied by 6–8 keywords that fully reflect the content of the publication.
5 Main text of the article. Original and problematic work should be clearly structured and divided into sections with headings: INTRODUCTION, OBJECT AND METHODS OF RESEARCH, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSIONS, ACKNOWLEDGMENTS, REFERENCES.
The journal is governed by the rules approved by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the recommendations of WMA Declaration of Helsinki (Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Participants) and the European Convention for the Protection of Vertebrate Animals used for Experimental and Other Scientific Purposes (Strasbourg, 1986). Information on the availability of written informed consent from patients for the use of their data (clinical trials) or on compliance with bioethical standards (research involving laboratory animals) must be indicated in the OBJECT AND METHODS OF RESEARCH.
Refusal to publish may not be accompanied by an explanation of its cause and cannot be considered a negative conclusion about the scientific and practical value of the work. The works sent to the editorial staff are not returned. After publication, all copyrights belong to the editorial staff.
The main characteristics of the oncoepidemiological process in Ukraine should be listed in accordance with the latest issue of the Bulletin of the National Cancer Register of Ukraine and are included in the REFERENCES.
To maintain the principles of reproducibility, the material of the section OBJECT AND METHODS OF RESEARCH must contain exhaustive information necessary for the reproduction of the experiment by other researchers. All used methods, research algorithms must be described, statistical analysis methods and software versions with the help of which the statistical processing of the results was carried out must be indicated. Provided that artificial intelligence (AI) technologies were used when writing the manuscript, it should be clearly stated which AI tool was used, for what purpose, and in which part of the manuscript.
All physical quantities and units are given in SI; terms — according to anatomical and histological nomenclatures; diagnostics — according to the current international classification of diseases; medicinal drugs — by international names; test systems, reagents, equipment, instruments — indicating the manufacturer and country. In the section RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, the author presents the main results of the study, illustrates them with the help of graphs, diagrams, photo materials, summarizing tables. Performs an analysis of their own results and compares them with the research results presented in the scientific literature dedicated to this topic.
Graphs and diagrams must be presented in Excel format. Photos are given in separate files in .tif or .jpg format with a resolution of 300 points per inch (the horizontal dimension is not less than 90 mm).
Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals and placed on the pages of the manuscript according to their mention in the text. The name of the table is placed above the table; references and notes to the tables, as well as captions for the figures, are placed directly below them.

- Acknowledgements and funding sources are provided after the CONCLUSIONS following this example: The study was conducted within the framework of the research project on the topic "Topic Title" (Project No., implementation period).
- References. References are given in the text by numbers in square brackets. Numbering of references is carried out in the order of mention in the text. Unpublished data and personal messages are not listed in the list of literature. Authors may not refer to dissertation abstracts, congress and conference proceedings. All references must be in English or in Latin transcription.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
The manuscript is sent by email (oncology_kiev@ukr.net) or submitted online on the journal website (https://nasu-periodicals.org.ua/index.php/oncology) on the OJS platform.
The article undergoes a preliminary review by an editorial staff member regarding the compliance of the material with the journal's scope and manuscript formatting requirements, as well as a check for plagiarism and the use of AI.
If at least one of the reasons listed in the section "Grounds for refusal of publication" is detected, the article is not subject to further peer review, and the author is sent a notification of the manuscript's rejection.
Upon compliance with all manuscript formatting requirements and positive results of the primary check, the further publication procedure follows this algorithm:
- Appointment of reviewers. All manuscripts undergo mandatory double-blind peer review to assess scientific novelty and methodological quality of the work. The Editorial Board selects two independent experts who hold a scientific degree and are specialists in the relevant field. Depending on the method of manuscript submission (to the editorial e-mail address or online on the journal's website), communication with reviewers and the form of review submission differ – accordingly, a review in Word format via the editorial E-mail or through the OJS platform.
- Review stage. Reviewers analyze the submitted manuscript according to the following criteria: scientific novelty, clarity of the task formulation, methodological level of the research (not used for review articles and lectures), form of material presentation, presence of discussion of results, quality of bibliography.
The review period determined by the editorial board is 2 weeks.
Upon completion of the review, the experts provide one of the following conclusions:

In the event of contradictions between the conclusions of two reviewers, the manuscript is transferred for consideration to a third independent expert.
- Incorporating corrections or revisions based on reviewers' recommendations and subsequent re-examination of the revised manuscript by specialists.
- Final decision-making by the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Board regarding the inclusion of the article in the upcoming issue of the journal (recommended for printing).
- Preparation of the article for publication: literary editing, proofreading, and technical layout.
- Approval of the layout with the author. Making corrections to the article proofs if necessary.
- Publication: posting the electronic version of the article on the journal's official website and printing the hard copy circulation.
