Abstract

Existent pre-conditions for necessity to employ the economic diagnostics of development of territories (regions) are described for objective cognition of functional and spatial transformation of separate elements of productive forces. Based on presentation of the region as an economic system, economic diagnostics is presented in its wide and narrow scientific interpretation. The contours of economic (in narrow sense of word), social and ecological diagnostics of development of territories (regions) are theoretically grounded, they should be considered when forming the corresponding scientific apparatus.
