The 60th Anniversary of Viktor Petrovych Kotsur

Abstract

Viktor Kotsur is a distinguished mathematician, a specialist in the history of Ukraine and the history of science, technology and education, doctor of sciences in history (1999), professor (1999), academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (2010), rector of Hrygoii Skovoroda State Pedagogical University in Pereiaslavl-Khmelnytskiy. His research touches upon historical analysis, historiography and source studies, social change and political processes in Ukraine in 1920—30 and in times of totalitarianism, history of science, technology and education in Ukraine in the 20th and 21st centuries. V. Kotsur elaborated and implemented a method for content analysis and correlation analysis of newspaper journalism dated from 1921— 1925, he is the author of more than 500 publications. V. Kotsur was the scientific supervisor for seven doctors of sciences and 31 candidates of sciences in history. He works as administrator in the field of R&D and education, has state and scientific awards.
