Congratulations with the Anniversary. The 80th Anniversary of Victor Pavlovych Rybachuk

Abstract

The article consist of the 80th-anniversary congratulation to Viktor Rybachuk, a senior research fellow of Dobrov Institute for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies of the NAS of Ukraine. It gives details of the career path of V. Rybachuk who started it by working in the chemical industry, later in the department of science and education institutions of the Central Committee of the Communist party of Ukraine; he worked within the environmental security system of Ukraine in 1991, and in the Administration of the President of Ukraine in 1992. From 1993 to 2001, he was editor-in-chief of a science popular journal. Since 2001, V. Rybachuk has been in staff of the Dobrov Center (now Institute for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies of the NAS of Ukraine. His works are focused on scientometrics. He is a pioneer in research of methodological problems pertaining to applications of the webometric approach to quantitative analysis of patterns and trends in the development of science system in Ukraine and beyond. Details of the publication activity, research and organizational effort of V. Rybachuk are given.
