The increased support of R&D by the newly elected president J. Biden was not surprising for an American voter, because J. Biden pointed out repeatedly to its necessity during his electoral campaign. But its scales are impressing, as they refer to nearly three-fold growth in the budget appropriations for R&D. The article contains statistical data confirming the support of R&D by the newly elected president J. Biden (the increased government appropriations for R&D in particular), and details about innovations in R&D management and organization. One such innovation is set out in the report of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology entitled “Industries of the future Institutes: a new model for American science and technology leadership”, which review is given in the article. Another important point is that the new Presidential Administration puts emphasis on the need to rely on R&D in all the aspects of state policy.
