Внесок видатних представників хімічної науки середини XIX — початку ХХ століття у розвиток науки, освіти та популяризації наукових знань

Статтю присвячено з’ясуванню ролі вчених-хіміків у проведенні з’їздів російських природознавців і лікарів у період від середини ХІХ до початку ХХ століття. Досліджено передумови пожвавлення наукового життя у другій половині ХІХ ст. і пов’язаних із цим подій: збільшення кількості публікацій у наукових журналах (оригінальних праць і перекладів з іноземних мов), читання публічних лекцій, а також організація та проведення тематичних з’їздів. Зроблено акцент на участі у таких заходах учених-хіміків, оскільки цей аспект здебільшого залишався поза увагою істориків науки. Підкреслено важливість співпраці вчених-природничників, що працювали у різних наукових напрямах. Проаналізовано внесок видатних представників хімічної науки у проведення наукових форумів. Показано, що активними учасниками з’їздів були відомі вчені-хіміки — Д.І. Менделєєв, О.М. Бутлеров, М.О. Меншуткін, М.І. Коновалов, І.О. Каблуков, а також науковці, які працювали в цей період на теренах України: М.М. Бекетов, Є.Ф. Гарнич-Гарницький, П.П. Алексєєв, М.А. Бунге, О.А. Веріго, С.М. Реформатський. Розглянуто вплив рішень, обговорюваних на з’їздах, на подальший розвиток науки, технологій, промисловості, сільського господарства, формування системи освіти, популяризацію наукових знань. Описано заходи, запропоновані учасниками зібрань, стосовно хімічного контролю якості продукції, зокрема створення харчових хімічних лабораторій та вдосконалення відповідного законодавства. Підкреслено важливість подібних пропозицій для позитивних змін у сьогоднішньому житті. Зазначено, що досвід минулого може використовуватись у таких процесах, як імпортозаміщення, взаємодія державних органів і наукових установ, політика в сфері освіти.
