Based on a comprehensive body of sources, the monograph of I. Annienkov, “Developing Electrical Engineering on Ukrainian Terrains in the 1920s–1930s,” reconstructs a coherent historical picture of the development of domestic electrical engineering in times of industrialization in Ukrainian lands. It shows that the domestic process of industrialization could reach the global level due to the rapidly built science and technology capacity. However, this process was scarcely explored prior to the publication of this monograph, in spite of its prolonged chronological period and importance for Ukraine. A detailed retrospective analysis by the author shows the gap between the performance of electrical engineering on the Ukrainian terrains, as narrated by the historiography, and historical records stored in the collections of two central and six oblast state archives of Ukraine and the State Archive of Kyiv City. This gap pertains to the whole chronological period. This book is recommended for specialists in the history of science and technology, managers of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and electromechanics; engineers and economists; university students and postgraduates.
