International Scientific and Practical Conference “Global Legal Skills” (June 4—10, 2024, Bari, Italy)

Abstract

Today, the issue of reforming legal education, introducing new approaches to training legal professionals and providing them with practical knowledge and skills has become quite relevant. At the level of the draft law, the Concept of Reforming Legal Education in Ukraine and the application of the best world experience and developments are the requirements of the time. Ukraine actively participates in international scientific activity, and the issue of challenges in legal education and finding ways to address them requires the involvement of the world's best experience and practices. The international conference presented the main achievements of various scientific schools in Europe (Italy, the Czech Republic, Germany) and the USA in disseminating applied legal knowledge among law students. The conference included events, panel discussions and exchange of experience in legal science and education, training law students, conducting negotiations, legal English, legal English writing and drafting business documents. Among other issues discussed at the conference were the use of AI tools in working with students and in forming certain skills and abilities in them; application of AcrossCultures approaches to developing communication skills of practicing lawyers from different countries; taking into account the characteristics and traditions of different countries and cultural groups; GetYourStudentsSpeaking topic – development of oral communication skills; development of legal writing skills; dissemination of Use Data for Social Change experience; use of new approaches to developing practical skills in students and forming social responsibility; psychological comfort and positive thinking of students, friendly attitude in the team; dissemination of experience in using practical cases and developing students' skills in working with them.
