Редколегія журналу публікує лист і аналітичну записку, які були направлені 22 грудня 2021 р. від ДУ «Інститут досліджень науково-технічного потенціалу та історії науки ім. Г.М. Доброва НАН України» до Комітету Верховної Ради України з питань освіти, науки та інновацій у зв’язку з внесенням на розгляд Верховної Ради України проєкту Закону України «Про основні засади формування та реалізації пріоритетних напрямів наукової, науково-технічної та інноваційної діяльності в Україні», який, на думку фахівців Інституту, є категорично неприйнятним. Він ґрунтується на дуже поверховому аналізі ситуації, що склалася, ігноруванні (або просто незнанні) тих основних ідей і задумів, на основі яких формувалася система пріоритетних напрямів України, а також реальних причин, які зумовили її неефективність сьогодні. І якщо ставиться за мету започаткування цілеспрямованої науково-технологічної та інноваційної політики в нашій державі, то цей закон не варто приймати.
