Abstract

Enterprises play an influential role in the economic growth and standard of living of the country. In the conditions of market transformation and socialization of economic activity the issue of enterprise development becomes particularly important. Nowadays much attention is given to nuclear energy enterprises. Nuclear energy has been one of the most polemical topics since its first research testing in the 20th century. But a long-term view of the energy sector reveals nuclear power as a particularly competitive source of electricity, on the basis that it offers stable and predictable production costs. One of the important conditions for the enterprise development is the identification of a set of factors that influence on business operation. The aim of this research is to explore the theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the «development of the enterprise» concept; systematize and summarize the main factors of enterprise’s development; propose a system of factors for the development of Ukraine’s nuclear energy based on analysis of the legislative framework, features of the energy sector functioning, international partnership programs. Identification of development factors helps build applications which are specific to an enterprise during its planning stages. These factors influence on business functions that add to the cohesiveness and interrelatedness of an enterprise’s operations, such as business idea development, planning and conducting business. Nuclear power currently produces approximately sixty percent of the electricity in our country. The research shown that the main factors of development are international cooperation, progress in reforming the energy sector, human resources. Despite the effective policy of NNEGC Energoatom, some problems still open. Particularly the issue of government policy needs more attention. It is also necessary to improve safety management, increase the effectiveness of communication with local communities, develop and implement innovative projects.
