Events Dedicated to G.M. Dobrov

Abstract

Dobrov Institute for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies of the NAS of Ukraine celebrates the year of 2019 as the year of Gennadiy Dobrov (1929–1989) by whose initiative the Institute was created. In this anniversary year, the Institute held a series of events commemorating G. Dobrov: international project “National Academies of Sciences: current performance, problems, development prospects and priorities of cooperation within the framework of IAAS [International Association of Academies of Sciences]”; the traditional annual conference (Dobrov readings) with participation of Institute staff, colleagues and associates of Dobrov, held on March 12, 2019, which its final part arranged as a meeting with Dobrov’s disciples; international symposium “National Academies of Sciences: current performance, problems, development prospects and priorities of cooperation within the framework of IAAS”, held on June 6–7, 2019 and devoted to the 90th anniversary of Gennadiy Dobrov. The article contains a detailed review of the abovementioned events.
