Serbian scientist Yugoslav Raikovic holds a special place among a great many foreign scientists collaborating with G.M. Dobrov and his companions and disciples in Kyiv science of science school. It was in 1969 that Yu. Raikovic read Dobrov’s book “Science about science of science”, got excited about and decided to translate it into Serbian, in order to make Yugoslavian scientists acquainted with a new research field, science of science. Yu. Raikovic offered G.M. Dobrov to translated his book into Serbian. G.M. Dobrov accepted the offer, and they start writing letters to each other. It was in 1970 that Yu. Raikovic came to Kyiv for the first time by Dobrov’s invitation, to participate in Kyiv International Symposium, and after that he became its permanent contributor. Yu. Raikovic was a philanthropist sponsoring scientists from Russian, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and other countries, to allow for their coming to international conferences, symposiums or seminars in Yugoslavia. Ukrainian and Serbian colleagues of Yu. Raikovic keep the memory of him, and “Science and Science of Science” journal publishes recollections of some of them.
