Our journal has always sought to react quickly on vital problems of science development and science and technology policy, requiring solutions today. That is why we addressed academician B.Ye. Paton, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and asked him to share his thoughts with readers of “Science and Science of Science” journal in an interview to O.S. Popovych, editor-in-chief of the journal, and B.A. Malitskiy, director of Dobrov Center for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies of the NAS of Ukraine. It was in July, and we did not have a suspicion that it was going to be our last conversation with this prominent scientist and brilliant man. But as the journal was being prepared for printing, Borys Yevhenovych gone away… So, this interview turns into the testament, the last address of academician B.Ye. Paton to all of us.
