“Science for the Fair Peace in Ukraine”: The 30th International Scientific Conference for Young Historians of Science, Technology and Education, and Specialists

The publication highlights the topics and social significance of the anniversary XXХ International Scientific Conference of Young Historians of Science, Technology and Education and Specialists “Science for a Just Peace in Ukraine”, held on April 25, 2025 within the framework of the International Youth Symposium on the History of Science, Technology and Education “Priorities of Ukrainian Science”. Themes for discussion covered the importance of science for social practice and overcoming the difficulties of crisis periods; science and technology as a phenomenon of national and world culture; worldview and patriotic significance of the history of science and technology; priority results of Ukrainian scientists in the field of natural, technical and social sciences; historical biographical studies of scientists and organizers of science; popularization of science and museology; scientific approach to preserving historical heritage; ways to increase the prestige of intellectual work; social challenges of the modern technological world; science for the reconstruction of Ukraine. It was emphasized that the members of the Organizing Committee and guests addressed the young researchers with parting words, pointing out that science and technology historians, apart from providing a description of developments, need to assess them holistically from the point of view of the social function of the knowledge obtained, to highlight the importance of the history of science and technology for the self-knowledge of the Ukrainian people and the formation of a strategic national idea of building a sovereign innovative Ukraine by actively using scientific research. The article informs that the conference was attended by 99 participants from 15 cities of Ukraine, Romania, Canada, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, who presented 80 reports. Among them 22 Doctors of Science, 3 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD), 25 Candidates of Science. 36 organizations were represented, including 11 research institutions; 10 higher education institutions; 3 secondary and special educational institutions; 3 museums; 3 libraries; 4 scientific and educational organizations and initiatives; 1 startup, 1 enterprise. Among the conference contributors are well-known scientists and young researchers, which facilitates effective exchange of research experience.
