A session of the Scientific Council on Science Studies at the International Association of Academies of Sciences

Abstract

A next session of the Scientific Council on Science of Science at the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS) was held in Kyiv on May 16, 2017. The session was opened by Borys Malitsky, co-chairman of the Scientific Council, director of Dobrov Institute for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies of the NAS of Ukraine, who emphasized the importance of IAAS operation. The report “The experience of international scientific cooperation in the new changing working condition: brief information about the activities of the IAAS Scientific Council on Science of Science” was delivered by O.A. Hrachev, deputy chairman of the Scientific Council. Other speakers at the session were Yu.M. Baturin, member of the Scientific Council, vice president of the Russian Academy of Sciences; A.I. Dicusar, member of the Scientific Council, correspondent member of the Academy of Sciences (AS) of Moldova, laboratory head at the Institute for Applied Physics at the AS of Moldova; P.A. Vytiaz, head of the administration of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus, academician of the NAS of Belarus; I.V. Bumagina, deputy head of the department for international programs and cooperation on the post-soviet area at the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, and others. The article contains a review of their reports.
