International Symposium “The 100th Anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: the Past and the Present”

Abstract

The symposium was attended by more than 80 scientists from Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, and Russia. The first plenary session was opened by A.H. Naumovets who read the welcoming address to the symposium participants from Vorys Paton, president of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine. Yu.P. Bohutsky, an adviser of the President of Ukraine, vice president of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, extended to the symposium participants the welcoming address on behalf of P.O. Poroshenko, president of Ukraine. The report “The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: the historic and contemporary role in the development of the national science system” was delivered by V.L. Bohdanov, chief research managers of the NAS of Ukraine. In overall, there were 25 reports devoted to vital issues of science development, delivered by representatives of research and higher education institutions of Ukraine and other countries.
