Abstract

The symposium objective is to discuss various dimensions of the impact of national and international scientific organizations on the formation, activity and efficiency of the international scientific community. Thematic coverage of the symposium: analysis of the phenomenon of global scientific community from science history perspective; contradictions between the phenomenon of global scientific community and nationally-oriented scientific tradition; international research networks as a manifestation of the global scientific community; efforts of national and international scientific organizations for the benefit of international coordination and cooperation in science; interactions between national and international scientific organizations, and national public administration offices charged for research management. The article provides details on symposium organizers and participants. The symposium events involved three round tables; a next session of the Scientific Council on Science of Science at the International Association of Academies of Sciences, attended by representatives of Belarus, Moldova, China, Russia, and Ukraine. The text of symposium recommendations is attached.
