Reporting session of the General Meeting of the NAS of Ukraine

Abstract

The session participants discussed last-year results of basic and applied research, problems and tasks of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine, related with further development of R&D and R&D support for the innovation-driven development of Ukraine. The report delivered by academician Borys Paton, president of the NAS of Ukraine, emphasized that radically new research results had been achieved at the intersection of research disciplines. Also, the report touched upon the staffing of the NAS of Ukraine, especially by incoming young researchers, and the financial condition of the NAS of Ukraine. After that, the president’s report was discussed. The resolution of the General Meeting of the NAS of Ukraine, approving the Report on the Activities of the National Academy of Sciences in 2017 and setting the objectives for the NAS of Ukraine for the following year, was adopted following the results of the discussion.
