The paper explores the correlation between investment and innovation in the development of higher education institutions (HEIs), which creates a synergy that contributes to accelerating the implementation of scientific and technological achievements, improving the quality of educational and scientific services, economic growth and social satisfaction. The stages of HEIs activities “from investment to innovation” have been identified as well as certain aspects of intensifying the processes at domestic universities in attracting investments for the introduction of innovations and implementation of innovative projects and programs by taking certain steps in the educational process and scientific research, developing international cooperation, applying public-private partnerships, and strengthening the principles of social responsibility are highlighted. The importance of taking into account external and internal factors that affect the investment attractiveness of each university and the use of its intellectual and research potential is emphasized.
The developed management model for HEIs (universities) investment and innovation activities confirms the importance of effective management, the task of which is to create a favorable environment for the implementation of innovations, strengthen investor confidence in university projects, implement an algorithm for attracting additional investments, adapt to changes, identify new opportunities, respond to the challenges of the time and the needs of society. To achieve success, it is necessary to actively use the potential of innovation to create new opportunities for the development of universities. Effective management of innovation and investment activities contributes to increasing HEI competitiveness, improving its market position and ensuring sustainable development in conditions of constant change and intense competition. At the same time, each higher education institution, prioritizing innovative solutions, new technologies, novel processes, and updated investment policy, can position itself as a leader in its field, contributing to the formation of an innovation economy in Ukraine as a whole.
