Abstract

The purpose of the publication is to introduce to the public the testimony of Polubotky village resident. He survived the occupation of the village during the offensive of the Russian occupation troops (February 24 — April 2, 2022). He had constant contact with representatives of the occupation army, and persuaded them to surrender.

To achieve the goal, the interview method was used. It was based on a specially developed thematic questionnaire, which includes more than 100 questions. By using it, the researcher could obtain the necessary information by interviewing the respondent.

The scientific novelty consists in introduction to the public of new oral history sources on the survival strategies of civilian population of the villages adjacent to Chernihiv that were occupied in spring of 2022.

Conclusions. The collected testimony can be considered an additional source in the matter of recording the Russo-Ukrainian war as well as a significant source of everyday life practices and survival strategies research.
