Review of the book: Radziyevska S.O. Trade integration of Ukraine into the world economy

Abstract

The reviewed monograph analyzes the country's integration potential and its development in the process of foreign economic relations between its economic system and the systems of other states and regional blocks. The author expounds on the significance of the influence of technological progress and industrial development on the realization of the country's integration potential and emphasizes the growing role of the state in this process.

The reviewed work proposes a new comprehensive approach to studying the concept of state regulation of Ukraine's integration potential development through the full-blown actualization of economic potential in the context of the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement implementation. The monograph contains an in-depth overview of Ukraine's trade relations with key integration partners, as well as a comprehensive analysis of trade integration between Ukraine and the European Union under the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement.

In the context of Ukraine's post-war economic reconstruction, it is proposed to focus on protecting national interests through tariffs and non-tariff measures, by promoting export of goods that are competitive in terms of value, rather than price, thereby strengthening, primarily, the financial and technological sovereignty of Ukraine.

The study of the essence and specifics of integration processes allowed the author to reveal the conceptual principles of the development of the country's integration potential in the world economy, to substantiate the need to ensure the development of Ukraine's integration potential through the modernization of agricultural, environmental and social policies.

In view of Ukraine's future membership in the European Union, the specifics of trade integration between Ukraine and the EU have been studied, since the strategic guideline for improving Ukraine's integration potential should be based on the example of the EU, where one of the key factors is trade policy aimed at both the internal development of the Union and the strengthening of external relations.
