Global problems of development of the economic processes, including those on the global market of telecommunication services cannot be considered separately from the processes of transnationalization.
The present study, which shows the organizational-methodological principles of assessment of the current processes of transnationalization of the market of telecommunication services, is of importance and has practical value for predicting the development of a competitive market of telecommunication services in Ukraine.
Despite the significant number of researches in the field of transnationalization, we note that many aspects, particularly those concerning the specificity of the development of global multinational companies on Ukraine’s telecommunication market, remain scarcely explored.
The purpose of the study is to examine the current trends, to assess the level of transnationalization on the market of telecommunication services, and to show the essence and specificity of the operation of transnational companies in the world and Ukrainian markets of telecommunication services.
Results of the study show that the largest number of European multinational corporations is concentrated in the banking, financial, telecommunication, informational, and insurance businesses. Thus, their share in the total capitalization is 48%. Telecommunication services are an important part of the global market of information and computer technologies.
Telecommunications occupy one of the first places in the world by the volume of revenues and the level of capitalization of the branch. Today, it is one of the most promising areas of investment inflows from leading transnational corporations (TNCs).
On the global market of telecommunication services, a change of priorities concerning the coverage of geographical regions by leading multinational corporations is realized. The markets of the Latin America, Middle East, and North Africa move to the top places.
The subject of further studies will be the assessment of the domestic sector of telecommunication services with the substantiation of the strategic directions for the entry of Ukraine’s TNCs to world markets. It is also expedient to conduct a profound evaluation of the transnationalization indices of leading domestic companies on the market of telecommunication services.
