Abstract

The issue of taking into account the national interests of Ukraine under fragmentation of the world economy is considered. It is shown that fragmentation is one of the consequences of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and can lead to the division of the world into geopolitical blocs with their respective technical standards, payment systems, and reserve currencies.

Relevant directions of the nation’s further development under the fragmentation have been identified, among these the following are singled out: Ukraine's orientation towards the optimal development model of the world's leading countries; support for Ukraine from world countries’ governments and international financial organizations; sanctions policy against the aggressor country and other restrictive measures in the post-war period; various risks of the world economy, etc.

The fragmentation of the world economy allows to identify groups of countries that can serve as a reference point for the further economic and political development of Ukraine. It is about both the prospects of EU membership and broader partnership with the USA, Great Britain and other countries. It is emphasized that fragmentation basically cut off certain countries, primarily those connected to the aggressor country.

In addition to the orientation towards the EU, the criteria for choosing Ukraine's development model, taking into account its national interests, should comprise resilient and promising development.

Conclusions are made on taking into account the national interests of Ukraine under fragmentation of the world economy. For instance, Ukraine's relations with the governments of foreign countries and international financial organizations should be built on the current realities of the national economy. This requires a broader certainty, which would include medium- and long-term prospects, and cooperation in this field should be based on adequate understanding of the country's development. The need to carry out reforms in Ukraine simultaneously with the post-war reconstruction is considered an important guarantee of reforms’ success and their adequacy to the requirements of the modern world.
