Scientific diplomacy under full-scale war in Ukraine

Speech at a meeting of presidents and representatives of academies of sciences on the occasion of the launch of a long-term program to support Ukrainian teams at the Polish Academy of Sciences, carried out in cooperation with the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and other partners

Abstract

On June 29, 2023, another meeting of the high-level coordination group for support and development of Ukrainian science was held in Warsaw. The meeting was attended by the president of the Polish Academy of Sciences Marek Konarzewski, the president of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences Marcia McNutt, the president of Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters Marie-Louise Nosch, the president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatoly Zagorodny, authorized representatives of the Royal Society of the UK, the Australian Academy of Science, the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities, German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. The participants of the meeting discussed the urgent questions of supporting the development of the scientific sphere of Ukraine, the implementation status of the Action Plan for support of Ukrainian science.
