Abstract

The Russian Federation's war against Ukraine and the contexts of World War II memory

According to the materials of scientific report at the meeting of the Presidium of NAS of Ukraine, December 3, 2025

The report analyzes the complex crisis of the international security system, which was revealed by the events related to the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine, marking the division between the democratic world and the world of authoritarian regimes and dictatorships. As the Kremlin crystallizes the Soviet myth of Victory into a new geopolitical construct, using it as a tool to destroy the remnants of the Yalta-Potsdam configuration of the world order, the task of Ukrainian humanities scholars is to create a scientific basis for the formation of a policy of national security and historical memory.
