The report presents the current results of fundamental scientific research conducted by specialists of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Forestry and Forest Melioration named after G.M. Vysotsky, the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. These works are aimed at improving the condition of Ukraine's forests and strengthening their functions in the context of global warming. The topic of these studies is due to the constant growth of the socio-economic, ecological and environmental significance of forests as a powerful natural factor that stabilizes the functional organization of natural ecosystems, increases their resistance to anthropogenic impact, reduces risks and mitigates the negative consequences associated with global climate and environmental changes.
