Abstract

The report emphasizes that scientists from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in close cooperation with scientists from other institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and colleagues from foreign research centers, focused on the short-term and long-term ecological consequences of the Kakhovka Reservoir disaster. Using an interdisciplinary approach, the research team developed a methodological framework that combines field works and remote sensing observations with numerical and analytical modeling. This approach is rational, since access to the reservoir remains difficult, and in some areas, impossible due to ongoing hostilities.
