Abstract

The synthesis and the characterization of a novel palladium (II) complex containing 3-(2-pyridyl)-5-propyl-1,2,4-triazole (HL) are described. Structure PdL2 was characterized by crystal X-Ray diffraction and 1H NMR spectroscopy. It is necessary to highlight that, after the complexation, the protons of pyridine and triazole fragments undergo a low-field shift because of a decrease in the electron density in the corresponding heterocycles. An interesting feature is a significant shift of the ortho-pyridine ring proton in a low-field area. This may be due to its closeness to the lone electron pair of the nitrogen cycle of the second triazole ligand.
