The effect of NaOCl on Escherichia coli and Candida albicans cells is studied in order to detect their viable but non-culturable state (VBNC). Cells pre-exposed to the stress factor have been rehabilitated. The presence of a viable but non-culturable state of Candida albicans cells stained with trypan blue in microscopic studies is confirmed.
