Abstract

Fractional composition of liver and gills phospholipids of carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) and pike (Esox lucius L.) under the influence of elevated concentrations of Fe3+ ions in water is investigated. The effect of Fe3+ ions (2 and 5 maximum permissible concentrations) causes the activation of lipolysis in tissues of liver and gills of studied fish species testified by an increase of the lysophosphatidylcholine content and a decrease of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylserine, and phosphatidylinositol contents. Changes of polar lipids contents in liver and gills of fish under the influence of Fe3+ ions are species-specific and determined by the concentration of Fe3+ ions in water.
