Abstract

Hematological indicators in the body of crucian carp (Carassius gibelio Bloch.) and pike (Esox Lucius L.) under the influence of increased concentrations of Co2+ ions in water (0.1 and 0.25 mg/dm3) were studied. It was noted that changes in blood parameters mainly depended on the concentration of metal ions in the water and fish species. Thus, an increase in the number of erythrocytes, hematocrit and hemoglobin was observed in the blood of crucian carp only at the concentration of 0.1 mg/dm3 of cobalt ions, while in pike similar changes of these indicators were observed only at higher concentrations of Co2+ ions (0.25 mg/dm3). Cobalt accumulation in the blood of both crucian carp and pike was not observed under conditions of increased content of metal ions in water.
