Outstanding Ukrainian mathematician, educator, teacher and organizer of science
To the 150th anniversary of Professor V.Y. Levytskyi

The article is dedicated to the memory of Ukrainian mathematician, known for his works on the theory of analytic functions, history of mathematics, astronomy and physics, public figure, founder of Ukrainian physical and mathematical terminology, full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society, doctor of philosophy, professor of Lviv University Volodymyr Y Levytskyi. In 1893, he published a work in higher mathematics, written in Ukrainian for the first time in history. "The founder of the mathematical culture of our people" - this is what a world-famous mathematician Academician Mykhailo Kravchuk said about Volodymyr Levytskyi.
