Abstract

The monograph summarizes the current understanding of the theory of condensed organic radioluminescence formed at the end of the XX – beginning of XXI centuries, the main aspects of theoretical and experimental research in this field are examined. The material on basic questions of physics interaction of ionizing radiation with organic materials, sources of ionizing radiation, physics of processes of transfer of charge states and energy excitation in molecular materials is expanded. The basic characteristics of organic scintillators manufactured by leading companies in the world are systematized, information about new scintillation materials – molecular and compositional polycrystalline scintillators – is given.
