Problems and prospects of the evolution of human resource capacity of the sections and departments of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

The article analyzes the dynamics of the age structure and the total number of scientists in sections and departments of the NAS of Ukraine for the period 2021—2024. Using the endogenous method of forecasting the evolution of the human resource capacity of science, forecast calculations of the total number of scientists for the next 5 years were made for different annual replenishment scenarios. It is shown that a moderate increase in the influx of young people into science, even if it continues from year to year, does not solve the problem of preserving the human resource capacity of both the Academy and Ukrainian science in general. This requires radical changes in state policy, most of which can realistically be implemented only after the end of the war. However, the authors recommend a number of measures that would be advisable to take today.
