The prospects of molecular biotechnology and genomics achievements application in Ukraine

Abstract

The problems that arise in front of biological science in the field of vegetation are analyzed. Growing deficiency of natural and anthropogenic resources, high requirements to vegetation product quality urge to development of biotechnologies and genetic engineering, creation of new sort generations. New genotypes engineering with predetermined characteristics has given an opportunity to get transgenetic plants that are genetically modified organisms that more and more change the world farming industry practice. The trends for elaboration of the national strategy of plant biotechnology development, selection and provision for biosecurity of transgenetic crops are outlined.
