Abstract

The report presents the most important results of basic and applied research in the field of powder metallurgy and composite materials, conducted at the Institute for Problems of Materials Science of the NAS of Ukraine, which for many years was and remains the main organization in the country that coordinates scientific and scientific-technical activities in the field of powder metallurgy. Developments of the Institute have been implemented at the enterprises of the defense-industrial complex, aircraft-building and rocket-space industries of Ukraine. It is proposed to create a materials science center on the basis of the Institute to assess the conformity and interchangeability of critical import materials to meet the needs of domestic enterprises.
