Abstract

A number of new nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds have been synthesized and investigated against viruses causing opportunistic infections in humans (human cytomegalovirus, human papilloma virus, poliovirus and human polyomavirus). The most active compounds – "leader structures" were identified, they are characterized by a high level of inhibition of viral replication, and significant selectivity against cytomegalovirus, poliovirus and papilloma virus. The structure–activity relationship is studied.
