Abstract

The report examines various hypotheses about the causes and development of Alzheimer's disease, analyzes the current state and prospects of developing new methods of early diagnosis, creation of new drugs for the effective treatment of this neurodegenerative disease. The most important results obtained by scientists of the NAS of Ukraine on the study of a number of fundamental questions of the pathogenesis of brain damage in Alzheimer's disease that contributed to the emergence of new approaches to the treatment of this disease are given.
