About the National Report of the NAS of Ukraine “Ukraine as a Civilizational Subject of History and Modernity”

Abstract

The National Report “Ukraine as a Civilizational Subject of History and Modernity”, which was prepared by specialists of the institutions of the Section of Social Sciences and Humanities of the NAS of Ukraine, was presented to the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for consideration. The authors of the National Report tried to answer the question of how Ukraine can establish itself as a full-fledged subject of the world civilization system in the current conditions of a hybrid world order and geopolitical turbulence. The historical preconditions, specifics, factors and problems connected with the acquisition of Ukraine’s civilizational subjectivity in the modern world are comprehensively studied. The perception of the citizens of Ukraine about the degree of independence of the state in various spheres of domestic and foreign policy, as well as the attitude of international partners to the subjectivity of Ukraine is analyzed in detail. The prospects of the civilizational subjectivity of Ukraine in the XXI century are determined, and ways to strengthen it in the political, economic, international legal and spiritual and cultural spheres are outlined.
