Abstract

The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine reports with deep sadness that on August 19, 2020, world and domestic science suffered a great loss — at the age of 102 the heart of a prominent Ukrainian scientist in the field of metallurgy, metal technology, electric welding and materials science, organizer of science, state and public figure, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute of the NAS of Ukraine, twice Hero of Socialist Labor, the first Hero of Ukraine, Academician Borys Yevhenovych Paton.
