Farewell to Academician Borys Yevhenovych Paton

Abstract

On August 19, 2020, an outstanding Ukrainian scientist, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Editor-in-Chief of the Visnyk of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Borys Yevhenovych Paton passed away. A legendary personality, a peer of the Academy, which, without exaggeration, was his whole life, a wise, caring, sensitive and deeply intelligent man, a world-famous scientist, a talented leader and organizer of science, one of the faces of Ukraine, by which we are recognized in the world — Borys Yevhenovych embodied a whole epoch of Ukrainian science.
