The report presents the results of fundamental and applied research obtained at the V. Bakul Institute for Superhard Materials of the NAS of Ukraine, thanks to which previously unknown mechanisms of dynamic structural transformations, which determine the adaptive nature of rapid reverse changes in the structure of composites in the cutting zone, were discovered. This became the scientific basis for the creation of a new generation of tool abrasive materials from diamond and cubic boron nitride for the formation of surface layers of critically important parts and products, in particular, for aircraft engine construction.
