Calixarenes as promising regulators of smooth muscle contractility

Abstract

The report presents the most important results of fundamental research in the field of muscle biochemistry and biochemical membrane science obtained at the Paladin Institute of Biochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine. In particular, it is relevant to study the properties of energy-dependent calcium pumps, as well as the patterns of directed regulation by calixarenes of the Ca²⁺-dependent contraction-relaxation of smooth muscle cells.
