From the history of the creation of the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service. Initiatives of Ukrainian astronomers

Abstract

The article focuses on the main stages of almost a century-long history of development of services previous to the modern International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS), which celebrates its 30^th anniversary this year. The important role of Ukrainian astronomers and their initiatives to improve the organization of these services is considered.
